heard in work yesterday that someone had come off on the Q's, gone over the front landed on his back, broke his back and is now paralised from the chest down, also somewhere else in cider country someone had fallen off in the same way and is completly paralised from the neck down the same day,
not sure where abouts on the quantocks but its gotta make you think that is mountain biking really worth that risk ?
Yes. Without a doubt.
personally, yes.
i do hate to hear of fallen riders and my heart goes out to them but its riding bikes down hills. it's dangerous but no more than crossing the street
no offence mean't but I do hope it is not true
Yes it is worth the "risk"* it is all about being alive and getting the pulse rate going and the silly grins we wear on a great day out
* I do crash enough on the Q's and it does hurt at times but it is far better than wasting my life on my arse
but its gotta make you think that is mountain biking really worth that risk ?
Course it is. You could get hit by a bus tomorrow etc etc....
i agree no better feeling that getting to the bottom of a fast technical downhill, but its unfortunate for the guys who are probably going to be in a wheelchair for the rest of their lives,
and yeah it is true, the nurse that was treating him comes into work
it happened last week I think.
