[#6183395]

I'm after a road helmet but apparently have a weirdly narrow (or maybe weirdly long) head.. i don't usually wear one but have a Giro Xen for mtb, which was the best of a limited selection but still has gaps at the sides despite fitting quite tightly front to back.

Anyone have suggestions for brands/models of road helmet to try out that might fit better?

Specialized or Lazer work well for my skinny head without making me look like a mushroom

My head's huge, so I need a 64cm helmet, and it's also very oblong.
I find most helmets both too small and too round.
I think this Met helmet from Halfords is the one I've got now.

Been round the shops today, so to follow up if anyone's interested, in general:

Specialized were alright but still a bit gappy at the sides
Lazer was promising for holding it on my head with their fancy retention system but sizing meant i would have to go up to a large
Garneau (europcar wear them, never heard of them otherwise) was pretty good width and good for comfort
Kask was the winner (mojito) but not by much - the garneau one was good.
giro, bontrager were poor, can't remember the others

but somewhat unsurprisingly it's mostly down to whether you can fit front to back in a smaller size.. if you have to go up a size for that, the sides go out too. and sizing is different even between models in the same brand sometimes it seems.
