North moor?

I'd say the big lump of grit suggests pennines, so Yorkshire or Northumberland are most likely. Derbyshire can probably be discounted as it's debatable whether it's the midlands or north.

That said, it could be the moor just above Skiddaw...

Saddleworth? Absolutely no idea. Derbyshire is both, but north if i have to choose.

Could it be Blanchland or Hexhamshire?

Could it be Blanchland or Hexhamshire? When you say North it sort of depends on where you live!

If it is, that must be an old photo. The new ferret-hitching posts are right next to the big rock these days

North York Moors or somewhere around Gunnerside.

Ms Spanner reckons it's Harkerside Moor, just above Low Row in Swaledale.
Looks a bit too gritstoney to me, but that's her guess.

I think it looks more like the Pendle/Roughlee area.

Any moor (sorry) clues?

It looks like the type of trails you get in the Cleveland Hills but that covers a pretty big area.

Are there any good routes round there, we've almost run out of ideas further West (Skipton, Kettlewell, Pateley). It looks a bit featureless?

😆

I love posts like this. I mean, they're not at all helpful and might even be annoying to some people, but I find them amusing which in my book is a Good Thing™. 🙂

'Ferret hitching posts' FTW! 😀

North Yorks Moors are less barron tundra-like

Here we are heading east which would eventually drop down your track.

Couldn't quite place the photo spot because there is a tendency to just bomb down that track 😀

I think the two photos give an idea of the terrain

Yea not the most exciting of tracks however it is natural and gives you a really "out there" feel , a good route through Kirkby malzerd, over grewelthorpe moor and down towards patley bridge
