[#3805524]

Have been busy taking apart my bike, greasing it up and trying to stop squeaks, clicks and creaking, all of which are making me go postal. I have also taken the opportunity to give it a new chain and cassette.

I have noticed when riding it around in the car park, having fitted new chain/cassette, that the middle ring feels and sounds really rough. Presumably there is more wear on the middle ring and I take it the new chain is now not in perfect harmony with the middle ring, as the ring is worn and the chain is new? It looks slightly hooked.

Am I talking a load of tripe or does that make sense? Just want to check before going back online and ordering yet another part...

Get new rings. I say change the drivetrain together, not in parts. The bike will never run smooth that way.

I've just eaten a vindaloo from the local indian takeaway.
I expect to gave a rough feeling ring in the morning.

Have got a new middle ring on order from CRC - hopefully I won't be feeling the Johnny Cash 'Ring of Fire' any more...

My ring didn't feel to bad today. Despite the Vindaloo.
All those training sessions on Madras's with extra chillies must have paid off.
