It wasn't just a load of nonsense, they really are mint.

Bought one from a chap on here second hand and built the frame onto a selection of spares (one of those builds that's justified by already having parts, that you probably didn't even end up using) and its really rather nice to be out on, makes me enjoy riding the same way I did when I were a kid.

When Cotic make a black or a purple one ill probably get a new one and use all the kit I was saving for a nice new full sus!

Cotic do a great job of joining two triangles together, don't they?

You wouldn't think there was much leeway in messing it up or getting it very right, but that is very nice!

That is all kinds of nice!

Sort your tyre logo alignment. Your pond is massive.

Thanks all. I was well happy with what I managed to cobble together, I bough a RF narrow wide and a slx chain, plus the cables new, frame fork and headset second hand and everything else was spare. It's just a really nice bike to have without worrying about bearings and reverbs getting worn etc. Has a 100mm thomson and could do with a slightly shorter one, and wouldn't mind swapping the deore cranks out for something lighter but she'll do for now!

Those SIDs look ace but I think a bit too jazzy, the rebas I've got are running smooth. Thanks anyway.

I've never been one for the tyre/valve alignment sorry, I know it cracks people!

The green is nice but a purple or black one along the line would definitey have me renewing. Any news?

Peachy looking bike.

The only improvement I would make to my Sanderson is 29 wheels...steel, simple, sprightly.

Lovely. I've been seriously thinking of changing mine for something similar but shinier. Horrible worry that it won't be as good. I love my Solaris, and have owned it longer than any other bike I've had.

Ride it until it could do with a respray, then have whatever colour you like!

Just built mine up and Loooove it ! I'm a lanky 6'6" and the XL is fantastic! I've got 100mm Reba's (may get 120 xfusions) running 740 bars , reverb raceface nw 1x10 (11-36) thinking of reducing the 100mm stem to 70mm ๐Ÿ˜†

Big pole, me too on the stem, and my bars are 711 and need to be 740 I reckon. Quite like running it without a dropper!

I'd go shorter on the stem or more back sweep on the bars - but not both. I found that a 70 stem and lots of back sweep was great on the downs but rubbish on the ups. I settled on 85mm.

Scraggy, literally 30 seconds later I rode over someone's packed lunch, had to check my tyres for shards of Tupperware.

Great pic BTW ! Wider bars work so well, I had 680s which felt like the old fashioned xc flat bars, wider the better!

I might as well add mine to this as RoganJosh was eyeing this up before I'd built it!

Lovely bike RJ. Love my Solaris also. Great trail bike and as you've already said, nothing to worry about, simple, effective and loads of fun. Not running a dropper either. Tempted but it's quite nice to run it with a standard post and drop it at the top of the climbs the old fashioned way.

Maybe that's one of the reasons why I like it so and why it's my go to bike. It's back to basics.

Solaris fanboy here too. Even better with King Dunmail's Raise in the background.
100mm forks and 85mm stem at 6'4".

Another blue solaris fan here. Excellent bike. I have spent many hours of fun on this saddle.

The 1x10 set up is nice, 32 chainring and I think a 34 cassette and cleaned everything I've tried in the lakes. I think it's probably been easier as I split my full sus a few months ago so have solely been riding 32x19 on my SS since then so the 1x10 is fine.

Ye the green is nice, and yes I had been eyeing that one up! I like running it with the standard post, I have a dropper in the garage waiting for my next full sus frame but I just like this bike simple the way it is. I ride in Lycra most of the time anyway so there is less to get caught on the saddle, never really been one for putting it down to be honest.

Photos on loughrigg terrace too for he who asked.

Is that the difference in the weight of the frame between a Solaris and an FF29?

I keep toying with the idea of replacing my FF29 with a Solaris as I think the slacker front might suit rocky Scottish mountains a bit better. But the FF29 is such a joy on the climbs that I'm reluctant to replace it with something that is heavier and less stiff.

Gratuitous blue Solaris post - sorry.

Replaced my nicked Soul. Since I got this my beloved Zesty barely sees the light of day.
