Apart from the fancy word I think thats fairly bleedin ovbious!

ditto motorbike crash with inadequate protection

Is there such a thing as 'adequate protection' when your'e on the back of your mates bike & a car driver who has been weaving from lane to lane (on the M6) eventually loses control & ends up at 90deg & 2 bikes smash into it?
One of the bikers 'died' 3 times on the way to hospital, Stu's legs were a mess (his left ankle was, as the surgeon said, 'smashed to pieces') He's got the cage on cos there was 4" of shin bone missing! He's been told It'll be another year before he can walk.

Thats him on a better day, 2nd from right.

Very ouch poor guy I hope he can come round from this ok.

New motorbike boots now at the top of my list

Won't necessarily help , a mate of mine got t-boned by a driver who didn't see his bright green Kawasaki in broad daylight whilst wearin a good quality boot (Dianese) and ended up with his ankle smashed to bits , little bits at that. He spent 6 months before he could walk again , 15 operations and 4 years later he just received some compo.

First thing he bought ? a brand new GSXR750 ๐Ÿ˜† some people never learn.

I'll get banned if I write what I thought when I saw the picture.
Send my best wishes to the man, tell him there's always something to look forward to and promise to not intervene if he meets the driver at the pub.
