Bromptons - the type of thing you see upper-middle class boys wrestling with around Shetland 😉

What an adventure. Brilliant shots & vistas. Wicked film. The best I've seen for ages 🙂

Is the packraft from Lomo? I need one of those now!

That's a great little film. Can I ask what equipment you used for filming. How did you achieve the smooth tracking shots?

Simply brilliant film.

Heading up there in 4 weeks time for two weeks and cannot wait.

Got to ask, what did you use for the panning shots?

I used a glidetrack made from IGUS parts for the sliding shots (don't go there).

I don't know who makes the pakrafts...they were a friends.

Shot with 2 Canon 5D mk2's.

Absolutely outstanding! Your composition is perfect, you have a first-class eye for a good shot, great light and great music to enhance the scene. If you ever wanted a job as a cameraman or producer this film would be your passport.

Friends of mine made, they think, the second ever recorded crossing by kayak from Shetland to Foula. It took seven hours going out and five coming back. I'm going to send them the link to your video.

Really, really good travelogue and so much more interesting than yet another helmet cam bumpity bumpity down the track video.

In the first shot of the ginger haired fella (is that you?) in the boat he really looked like he'd accepted that this was going to be his last recorded moment on this earth and that certain death awaits.

Riding and paddling, very nice mix.

The boats are these;

There's a few blogs around with water and bike trips eg Pugsleys in Alaska and others.

Great video, the slider/dolly type thing really adds a touch of class and there's some very nicely composed shots.

Though I also thought the reference to middle-class city boys was a little bit sneery sounding, what's the matter - they too common for you? 😛

Great video, thanks a lot

I felt that I 'needed' a packraft but soon got over it when I saw the price!

Fantastic!

Great adventure, stunning scenery and wildlife - all really well filmed.

Definately one of the best 'biking' films I've seen.

DON'T go touring on a Brompton. It was so slow it was terrible. On the last day, we argued over going a poxy 12 miles out of our way and both of us have pretty much been round the world by bike (Al has completely been round the world).

+1

Plus, I hope you informed the coastguard of your plans to take packrafts across those sounds.
