Hi all

I am looking for a set of full mudguards for my Boardman hybrid.

The thing is is that it has disc brakes which are in the way?

Any recommendations on what to use?

Thanks

Steve

My Mrs' three year old Boardman hybrid has mudguard mounts placed a few inches up the fork leg from the dropout, so adapting a standard front SKS to fit was easy, simply shorten one leg on each of the V shapped mounting rods an inch or so, then bend the lower leg equally each side to align with the clip on the mudguard.
I gave up trying to make a standard rear fit after the first one fell apart within a year. I'd used the normal rod on the drive side and used just one leg from the V on the brake side, but this allowed too much vibration and the guard came apart at the seatstay bridge.
She's using a normal rear Crud Catcher now.

Thanks. I was looking at the crud road racers mk2.

Are these any good and will they fit?

I used sks. Rear one fits fine anyway cos of brake position between the stays. Front you can either bend beneath the brake or shim out and bend around the brake.. rubber tap washers work well..
Either way it's not pretty but then neither are mudguards..

Depends! I tried fitting the Crud Road Racer 2's to my Boardman this weekend.
Yes, they WILL fit the frame and forks.
No, they WON'T fit the 28mm tyres!

Much too narrow, think they only go up to 23mm tyres (i originally bought them for my road bike). The 28mm tyres rub heavily.
