Just had a quick squint on Memory Map & it looks like all footpaths round there matey! There's a bit of B/way between Piercebridge & Gainford on the North side of the river then some more between Gainford & Winston on the South.
Get yer map out!

Hamsterley is your best bet. Or head over Richmond way. Or Guisborough, or Carleton in Cleveland.

Some good road riding round there though.

There's not much of any interest about TBH
You'd be better looking at The North Dales/NYM & over towards Hamsterley

Your'e only about 30mins from Swaledale which is actually officially Gods Meadow. (except it can be hilly in places)

Nothing really inspiring close by - Gainford - Piercebridge - Winston circuit round the Tees ok as a flat pootle. Some lane stuff around West Auckland. Triangular ride using bridleways SE of West Auckland, Bollam is the closest village to summerhouses.

Beyond Hamsterley Guide still the best coverage for routes in this part of the world.

Otherwise
+1 Swaledale
+1 Hamsterley, moorland bridleways towards Eggleston should be nice and dry at the moment. Shame the rains coming in.
