I normally just go riding and see what happens or try to follow a map route which gets tedious so I end up reverting to just going riding and see what happens half way through. However...I've been asked what GPS would I like for bike riding both on and off road from St Nick.
I'm not fussed about how high, how fast, how many heart beats, what breath rate, coefficent of wet rock to Racing Ralph etc. More a simple GPS that I can plug into my computer, drag and drop a route from the internet or whatever you do, fasten it to my handlebar and go and ride with nice little 'in car Sat Nav' like arrows to show me where to turn.
Does such a thing exist?

If you want to be able to follow OS Mapping, have a half decent battery life or replacable batteries and be simple to operate, the options are Garmin Oregon or Dakota (screen size is bigger on the Oregon) or Satmap, these are on offer if you follow a link provided by Midlantrailquestgraham earlier today. You will need built in OS mapping to ride off road and ideally a base map on your PC for route planning, or Where's the path.
Only my opinion of course, I use an Oregon 450 with mapping and it's great.
