Hi all, my wife has just started mtbing and seems quite keen. Shes got a crappy pair of running trainers and after something a bit better for her feet on the pedals.
Flats only and she doesnt want to spend £100... Any recommendations,
Disappointing, I thought there was a good deal to be done, as now exclusively in spd's!!
If she is like mine surely she will jump at the chance of buying some new shoes!
Shimano AM 41 are what my wife uses.
Just picked up a set of these- good value at half price but limited sizes left.

Shimano AM41, Five Ten Vxi Elements, Five Ten Impact VXIs, Specialized F20, Five Ten Vxi Freerider.
If you're worried about wet weather and puddles, the am41, and the elements are great. Still get wet, but dry really quick.
+1 AM 41's even though they look like they're made from penguins
Light and comfy, grippy enough but maybe not as grippy as 5:10's but not by much.
