We are soon off to Chillington in Somerset. The OS map doesn’t show much in the way of bridleways.
A recent trip to the Devon ,Dorset border also promised slim pickings. However some of the white roads were far gnarlier than my local trails in Surrey.
Hoping for a similar scenario for our next trip and that I’m not chronically under biked like last time.

Not really biked sound there much, mother in law is just outside crewkerne, other than some cx on bridleways around Ham Hill years back but last time there noticed some pretty good looking proper runs on Ham Hill.

I stayed near Crewkerne (no bike) a couple of months back and Ham Hill looks great (loads on the ground that might not be on the map). The bridleway network just south around Stoke Abbott looks OK on a map. But I expect foliage could be an issue on some of these routes at this time of year.

Stayed with some friends who live on Ham Hill recently. There are plenty of bridleways, but I didn't see anything technical. Loads of dog walkers everywhere. Nice area, though.

Definitely proper bermed runs when we walked there

I missed those. Still, we were only strolling about. Whereabouts were they?
