Has anyone ridden there?

It seems I'm off to the sun next February 1/2 term on an international school exchange visit. Family Ambrose hosted a Lesothoan teacher last month when she came to visit the school I work in- and now it seems that I get to go and visit them in return. YAYYY!!!

I've Googled ‘Moyeni’ (where I will be staying) and have read LOTS about the dinosaur footprints. I'm a science teacher so that looks to be pretty cool to me.

As yet I’m uncertain of any itinerary- but I’m sure to have a few spare evenings I’m sure so I’m wondering about taking the bike with me…

Ideas anyone?

Hi,

Moyeni is where my dad went to school. Anyway, family history aside, I'm off to SA in a couple of months, dropping by to do some riding with friends who own a farm in Fouriesburg. They're pretty well set up there and have even hosted Mr Minaar! Unfortunately it's private so I can't recommend them to you, but if I find anything else out I'll let you know. If you're interested, I posted a similar link a while back, and got a good response here.

Having lived near Lesotho for a many years, I can thoroughly recommend the area for mountain biking. It is a very mountainous area of South Africa and expect dry and dusty trails.
I would have to warn you about being prepared for the amount of thorns you will encounter. So tubeless is your friend or carry enough patches 😉

Never been there but having seen friends' pics of hiking/fishing trips in Lesotho I always thought it looked like a fantastic place to go riding.

Lesotho fun fact - has the highest lowest point of any country.
