Can anyone help me out with a suggestion for a route in the mourne mountains in northern ireland?

Im heading up tomorrow with the missus and want a scenic route thats not going to be too technicaly demanding for her. Shes pretty fit so climbing to the top shouldnt be a problem but any descents that are too wild will probably get me in trouble.. silent valley looks amazing but im not sure how accessible it will be for her on a 100mm ht.

Cheers!!

The red loop in Rostrevor is very scenic and quite accessible. 100mm ht is more than sufficient. The descents aren’t that exciting but the views are amazing.

if you don't want technical singletrack then the boundary of Tollymore forest park on the gravel path has plenty of climbs through the trees, beautiful views of the mountains  and can be linked by a short, quiet road with Donard park. again staying on the gravel boundary path for good climbs and fabulous views. silent valley is just really a tarmac/gravel out and back flat run. pm me if you would like a gpx route

dammit, didnt know there was cycling trails there. Used to fly out to do some fire testing in that neck of the woods and had been tempted to check my bike in. Planning a bit of an Irish tour next year so will take a look then.

Thanks for that guys! I ride around rostrevor pretty regularly myself but i was after something less intimidating than rostrevor for her. She could definitely do it but the probability of a wobbler being thrown is high 😃

Nice one harvey.. think we'll do that tollymore ride. sounds like just the job. Much appreciated 👍
