Hi guys,

Coyote Jersey image by Dan Poynton

As part of a 'New Designers' project I have designed a jersey that features built in protection to aid a rider's impact absortion if they were to fall of their bike.

I have added the image here and some small clues of what innovitive features are in the product although it is not something I can go too far into... disclosure and all that!!

I just really wanted some feedback on the look of the jersey and wanted to answer any questions that you guys have on the design. Any feedback would be really good to hear and would benefit the final product.

Thankyou for your time

Dan

Hey dan I like the idea. As some constructive feedback who are you targeting the product at? The style for me is a bit roadie and I think the riders most likely to buy are your enduro boys? Or will you have a range aimed at different riders? Maybe with more / less protection? Take a look at Troy lee designs I think it needs to be similar to that to be on trend

Overall good idea! Apparently orange is this seasons colour....!

Hi DT78 I am targetting it at the middle aged gents market but if the product goes into production (of which there is a chnce it could) there will be more ranges for women and juniors. The style I was going for was more like a vintage jersey than the current market. I wanted to keep it quite simple but I do get where you are comign from, once again the style would change depending on the user. Nether the less more colours would be available if it were to go into production.

Thbanks for the good feedback! It is really appriciated.

It's a mountain bike jersey, and it's white. Not a good idea.
The bubble protection areas seem to be in the wrong places. Forearms and kidneys? I land on shoulders, elbows.
Too roadie styled for MTB.
Lose the big logo.
Make the colours bolder, they seem pretty washed out.

You didn't really get the question on the target audience. How do you see it being used? XC racing? Posing round town? Downhill?

all that padding would be too hot for commuting, XC racing, enduro and trail (well for me anyway) + the latter two don't usually go for skin tight roadie style and it doesn't look compatible with a hydration pack which the latter two factions seem to feel the need for. DH would be the market but that is a comparatively small one

but unless the judges know anything about riding you could get away with it

So I'd have to buy the combination of the jersey plus protection every time I wanted another top? People tend to have more than one top and if they use protection, they wear it with many different tops.

Hi guys thanks for all the feedback!

The jersey has really been designed for downhill riding with possible extentions to the range to suit other markets.

There are two main types of protection in the garment. The portection seen by the hexagons is a smaller, thinner type of protection and then there are more bulky and solid pieces of protective material in the shoulder, elbow and hip. Unfortunatly I can not go into more detail than that!

Users will buy the top with the protection built in and this will not be removable in this specific garment. However, there may be room for a jersey in the range that has pockets rather than protection being sewn in. This would mean you would only need one set of protection which could be taken out of one jersey and put in another.

All the visual comments will be taken on board and may be addressed.

Once again thank you for all you comments.
