I assumed they were taking the total ascent of all the "celebs" combined i.e 8 people doing 3625ft each in 24 hours = 29,000ft in total.
There's no way they're each doing 29,000ft as it's remarkably flat up at John O'Groats

only 500ft ish per hour each, for their 6 hours in the first day.
