[#4495081]

I saw a helmet being used in a display the other day. No makers name on it anywhere (I had a very good look, but it was screwed down!)
It had an antique leather finish, that's a rich, retro red and a cream colour you see there.
I want one.
I can't find it anywhere.
I'm guessing it's a pretty cheap one though, which is fine, although it looked of reasonable quality at least.
Anybody got a few minutes spare? 🙂

Try your local Harley dealer, its the sort of fashion over function thing they would stock / sell.

Using it as a motorcyle helmet will be fine as long as you dont plan to ride more than at a jogging pace, in the months when there are no insects or rain or traffic.

Nitro seem to make a range that almost fit the criteria.

Mate, honestly, I've been using open face lids for years. That really is teaching your granny how to suck eggs.... so to speak.... 😉

Yup, Saw those as well.

Could have sworn that an extra in the "Blue Oyster Bar" scene in the 1984 classic "Police Academy" was wearing one.

Alternatively, try local "human cannonball" supply shops.

There seems to be a distinct lake of a BSI type sticker on it as well. As I recall, always used to be, the BSI sticker had to be on the outer shell at the back. It has been a few years since I was selling that stuff though.

Peter,

When you land, do you land on an air-bag or a net?

Or is it 'CE'. I forget.
My Shoei XR1000 next to me has nothing on it either, apart from the ACU sticker

Shoei XR1000?

Really noisey helmet and definately not very aerodynamic. You would definately get more distance when using a Shoei Qwest. Don't forget to tuck your arms in............

So. If we can't answer the question, we try (and fail) to look clever by having a pop, yes? Typical STW response I suppose.

Nice helmet but looks like it might be a bugger to keep clean.

I'm thinking that the leather outer of that helmet could have more friction in a sliding impact and twist the head causing neck injury?

So did my Dad, but that's because nobody made them then... can't imagine why anyone, even a scooter-ist would wear a pi55-pot.

Oh please dear god don't turn this into another helmet debate, he just wants to know where he can get one and promises only to wear it indoors OK.

Re the Ago pic up there, I have a 'corker' like that in those colours
Mrs saw it at a car boot sale and rang me, I told her to grab it.
Turned out to be a Jap replica but looks good on the shelf in the workshop.

Back to the OP
My mate reckons it could be a Piaggo special edition
It does look odd though without the chin strap rivet and wrap-round visor stud on the side, normally Bell look-a-likes have them if they have the 3 top studs

PP, pretty sure there were a load of these with different covers in those catalogues that fall out of bikr mags (might be called Legends or similar) and sell lots of misc bike tat. Mine go into recycling pretty quickly but may be some in local newsagents shelves.

So? I don't give a shit what you think, or anyone else to be honest.

Thanks for all the sensible replies chaps. It seems we draw a blank. Nevermind, I'll continue with my current black piss pot until I find one I like. 🙂

Yeah, lots of people make something 'like' that. But some of those are very expensive (Davida, Ruby)
Some don't fit me (Momo, Roof) and some I just don't want. I saw a lovely Italian flag one at the TT, night try tracking that one down.
I don;t like paying much for open face lids, certainly well under £100, put it that way.

Surely it,s a sign that you are not allowed to be seen that bent by wearing one if the makes do not fit, can,t do not know name of helmet manufacturer...!

Not our problem, maybe you should of smashed the display unit up and found a tag and made a mental. Note ehh!

Have you got rid of that vespa yet or is it rusted completely yet...
Time for stw classic style answer,

get a BmW tourer and buy a wolspurt helmet to go with suitably sir!

Yes. it does look similar to the Vespa range, if not in colour then certainly design. They do the Italian falg one though. I do like that one
