Hi,

Booked for the ferry to France on 26th June and a drive to Morzine for a week of bikes n beer with mates. As with everything right now trying to find out if trails / lifts / bars ect are open. Is anyone reading this in Morzine or the local area that can advise?

Cheers
G

Info here

Me and a few mates are due to head out early July. The 14 day quarantine on return is a big issue as that is going to cause problems for us all with work etc.

Has France lifted the 'voluntary' 14-day quarantine for UK visitors now?

Yeah I believe it’s either lifted or about to be lifted, but it’s when coming back to the UK and having to quarantine which I believe we would have to do ATM.
Not certain about any of it TBH getting to the point where I might just bail and have a week somewhere in the UK

Daughter has unofficially finished Uni today, plans for another summer in Whistler have been scuppered, as have her tagging onto our trip as that's cancelled.

Today she has been planning a long Alps trip starting in Morzine with her mates, depending on the French quarantine been lifted.

She did mention that some are already on the way.

Quarantine is still on for UK. No mention on when it will be lifted.

I think some of the reviews are supposed to be 29th June.

My understanding is France will lift quarantine the day Boris does in the UK.

I was meant to be going next week for Passportes.

I was happy to go even after they postponed the event and just have a normal long weekend in Morzine.

However, last I heard they were only going to open the Pleney lift on the 4th of July with Super Morzine and Les Gets lefts opening a week later.

That said, we’ve arrived a few days before official opening before and found Pleney lift open.

Les gets lifts are open daily from this weekend (been open the past few weekends)
Pleney due to open 27th June
Super morzine side due to open 27th June
Link to Chatel should also be open from 27th
Link to Champery not open until 4th July

Bars in town are slowly opening, pretty much table service only, would recommend you bring a face mask cos they're compulsory in some places when you're not at your table. Reduced capacity everywhere, book ahead for restaurants. No idea about quarantine coming from/returning to UK though. But this is all changing pretty quickly, so who knows in 10 days.

Bring mud tires, it's been raining pretty solid for a couple of weeks and no sign of letting up...

And here I am in Wales, crying. We still can't travel more than 5 miles. This may be the first time in over a decade that I don't get to break myself, my bike or my riding partner(s) in the Alps.

Was due to be heading out 1st July with mates for my fourth trip there. Took the easyjet voucher option this week with a heavy heart but very aware how much people's health and businesses have been and will be affected by all this. A boys trip messing around on bikes can wait and the mountains will still be there.
