I've just been told the excellent rocky track between Baysbrown and Oak Howe has been flattened ๐Ÿ™

A sad loss:

Probably under health and safety/disabled access legislation; after all, you can't allow any part of the countryside to exclude any visitor, no matter how remote or difficult to get to. Those step-downs would obviously be difficult to negotiate in high heels with a pushchair.

What is it with the Lake District - its as if the ramblers association and the maddest of the Brussles eurocrats have got together to exclude bikes...or is that these people actually do make up the Park Authority board??? ๐Ÿ™„
