Thanks for all the recommendations so far. I had a few test rides on some FS bikes, and think the time I've spent on hardtails is going to make it a difficult transition- so I think I'd be better off sticking with a hardtail.
The majority of stuff I do is XC, and I'm not too bothered about comfort, so something light and speedy would be perfect. And: I've got a max budget of about £1200 to £1300.
Whats good? Trek Superfly? Any recommedations?

Look 2nd hand for that money you should be able to get a lot of bike, but yeah carbon superfly, scott scale, cannondale FSI, etc
