I'm planning to ride from Montrose to Fort William this May stopping over in Braemar and Kingussie. Just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for accommodation at the start, midpoints and end?

Habitat in Ballater is a great bunkhouse, not far from Braemar. There is another at the base of Ben Nevis which is attached to a great pub, can't remember what its called though. Think there's a couple of bunkhouses in Kingussie, stayed in one either there or Newtonmore a few years back, saw Tom Baker in the pub along the road whilst he was filming Monarch of the Glen.

Yeah no doubt I'll be heading into the wind all the way, but I would rather finish at Fort William, then grab an extra day riding the red routes there than ending in Montrose. Aside from the first day the rest are 60km give or take a couple of km, that's certainly do able in a day even into the wind.
if you need anything before starting pop in...you may even get a cuppa!
