I'm thinking of doing this in September as it's one of the few events close to home. The thing is, I'm more of an all round/trail centre sort of rider and not a downhill nutter, plus I only have a hardtail. Is it doable?

Did the last one (circus of dirt) on my FS if I do this one it will b on my HT.
I will only be doing it if the have at least one stage in Cann woods. It was by far the best stage in the circus of dirt. For me it would not be worth the drive but if you local give it a go.
