Anyone else taking part?

My first race since this year since the Circus of Dirt Rounds back in the winter. Trail conditions will be the polar opposite so looking forward to it 😀

I'll be there. Just trying to weigh up what bike to take having never ridden round that way before.

160mm fs (overkill?) or the hardtail...

I've only ridden Newnham in the CoD rounds but it's not rocky, maybe a bit rooty in places. Not a huge amount of climbing (well, not compared to the Exmoor round).

Had a great weekend...trails were so fast 🙂

Did anyone not manage to 2 wheel drift the whole way down the Plymbridge stage?!...like riding on marbles that one!

Wish they'd hurry up and get the results uploaded as we left once we'd finished so didn't hang around.

Yeah, great fun weekend. Atmosphere was great, being able to ride with your mates rather than at set stage times was probably the highlight.

Stages were a bit hit and miss, they all felt quite short - stages 1,2 and 6 in particular being over in a minute and a half. Saying that they were fun and no real suffer fest pedally sections. The surface of that Plymbridge stage was a shocker, made for some interesting line choice!

Should have hung around, we were unsure about hanging about but results were up fairly quickly after the event and nearly everyone some fee prize/socks/tshirt/beer!

Results now up here:

34th for me, was 24th after the first two stages but nearly lost my way on Stage 3 (before the fire road link) and had an off on the Stage 5 on the marbles!

Enjoyed the Cann Woods stage a lot, had ridden most of the stages before back in the winter series, but it was a mudfest then so rode very differently this time.

Ah gutted I missed the prize draw! We didn't want to hang around too long after so headed off. We never win anything anyway...but looks like we should be stayed!

I'm guessing you're on about the sharp, blind left hidden in a dip - very nearly did the same on that one but spotted the line at the last minute, wasn't pretty but got round it ok. Judging by the skid marks I think a lot of people did similar, I know a few did in our group.

Stage 5 was a dog, surprised more people didn't bin it on there. Spent most of the stage trying find some grip with a bit of creative line choice and most of that was completely sideways.

If you haven't checked the latest results have a look, I've gone from 23rd to 21st so you might have gone up a couple. Also there are still a few people with a time of 0 against their names for stage 6 which is putting them out of order…
