Having taken a gouge out of my carbon fibre XX crank arm (despite crank boots, although I suspect would have been much worse without) courtesy of a rock I decided to see if Milliput would do a good job of repairing the damage (which was cosmetic, but a bit ugly) - so in case it's of any use to anyone, black Milliput does a great job of repairing little gouges in carbon fibre! Likely it will result in my imminent death, but it looks much better now...!

Makes note not to buy used cranks from andylc...
Covering up indeed, it was more of a scratch than a gouge but it still annoyed me. In a year or two when there are scratches everywhere it will probably cease to bother me.
Are they so much lighter to be worth having? I can't help thinking they won't last like a decent metal one would.
Bang in a wicking superglue like zap pink and then fill with an epoxy resin like SP. Not just cosmetic.
I'll make a note of that...although Milliput is super sticky and epoxy based, so very strong too.
