[#2493520]

I ordered a product online last week, received it this morning, there's a price label on the product 20% lower than what I paid 🙁

Shame there appears to be no other supplier in the UK otherwise I'd return it just to spite them 😡

Shall I name and shame or email them first saying "Shirley shome mishtake?"

Depends if 20% is broadly what you'd expect postage, packaging and overheads of running an online shop to incur.

price on product is VAT exclusive? It's old stock they haven't relabelled? They charge more for web sales to offset postage costs? You should be grateful they do mail order? Were you happy with the price you paid and if so why the whine? Maybe they dropped the price after you ordered? The phrase 'than what I paid' grates somewhat, could you reword it?

weekendworrier, YOU WANT TO BATTLE? 😡

price on product is VAT exclusive?

Well it's a retailer....I'll leave the rest to you 😀

It's old stock they haven't relabelled?

Pretty likely.

They charge more for web sales to offset postage costs?

Also a bit likely.

You should be grateful they do mail order?

Is your stock phrase "you should be grateful"? I pity your children.

Were you happy with the price you paid and if so why the whine?

I was...and still am actually, but I think a cheeky email is worth a try.

Maybe they dropped the price after you ordered?

They put an incorrect price label on after I'd ordered it and left the online price the same? 🙄

The phrase 'than what I paid' grates somewhat, could you reword it?

OK how about "more than the price what I paid"?

I had the same once. A big difference too. Product turned up with a sale label on it.

So I rang them up and got the difference refunded! 🙂

Cynic-Al - Are you bored? You seem to have been trolling a lot lately.

George, I'm mostly bored between 8:30 and 5:30, yes.

It's humourous trolling rather than anything malicious.

EDIT: email sent. KAPOW!

I bought something through Amazon marketplace a few weeks ago, it was only £7 or something but when it turned up it had a sticker on it stating £2.99!

I emailed the guy to ask why the discrepency (rather than leave bad feedback) and he gave me a right mouthful about how this was part of some bankrupt stock he'd bought and it was already labelled up, then went on to lecture me on the cost of P&P, how hard he and his wife work running a small business, never get weekends off, lots of pressure etc. I was quite amazed!

I just mailed him back asking why I should care about his personal circumstances and recommending he close his business if it's that unenjoyable and unprofitable. Harsh I know, but WTF?!

Well I've just had an email from Leisure Lakes confirming they will refund the difference, apparently there's an error on the website.

FANTASTIC SERVICE I THINK YOU'LL AGREE

So weekendworrier, about that flame-war... ❓

Well, I'm still not happy with the grammar what you chose to use.

Maybe you could ask cynical for a discount on his post due to poor grammar, e.g. maybe he will be nice to you for the next two posts?
