Anybody fitted any middleburn rings to either xt or xtr cranks. I thought i'd read somewhere about having to shim outer ring but could have imagined it. How do you lot find the rings shifting and durability.

Cheers

On M970s you need some 2mm spacers on the inner ring. I ran TA rings on mine (with spacers) and they were fine.

Never been a fan of Middleburn myself, don't find they shift all that well. Admittedly not used any for a long time though.

I've run Middleburn chainrings on XT M770 Cranks no problem, only small and middle rings though as I use a bash.

Yep, they're just normal M8 bolts.

Think middleburn make a ring just for hose chainsets to avoid needing the spacer but
It cost more than a normal one

So you Junkyard you reckon its worth trying them....cheapest i've found for a set of xtr is £198.00...few years ago i would have paid it but crc are doing full chainset for under £300!!!!Might buy one and put the other on here.
