Do they still cut the mustard? They're about comparable in price to XT / Deus and I've always wanted a set.

Has anyone ever rounded off the square taper interface on the crank and if so had it replaced on warranty?

Are Shimano standard BBs Ok? Square taper or ISIS?

Anything else to consider?

You can get external bb middleburns now so no need to worry about this square taper nonsense.

I heard Chris Hoy uses square taper so I doubt you'll round them off.

Had a set of ISIS RS8s.
ISIS BBs are rubbish, FSA and particually Truvative (lasted 25hrs) then fell out with CRC over a warrenty claim and never bought anything from them since. I damaged the non-drive spline and then got a pedal stuck in it too.

Sent back to Middleburn, who cut the pedal out (it was properly stuck!) and now I have a set of square tapers on UN74.

These have been excellent for the last 6 years and now I've just ordered two sets of the X-type ones for my new race bikes, going to use with King BBs. Was seriously tempted to have two more square tapers on royce BBs.

Uno isis on my singlespeed. Really solid set up.
Need to be careful with choosing b/b to get a good one and avoid the ones with cheeselike bearings though. Had success with SKF and crank bros ones.

Square taper Middleburn all the way. I'm 100kg plus. Ride Welsh Trails and trail centres, Alps, Pennines. Never missed a beat.
