Got a Samsung mobile phone with not much storage space so looking at buying a micro SD card so I can listen to music etc.
I looked on Amazon and there seems to be various 'classes' of SD card (4,6 and 10?) at varying prices. My question is, what 'class' of card would be suitable for playing music from on my mobile?

The difference is speed, so I would guess you'd not notice any difference at all if you're just using it to play audio. Tends to make a big difference in something like a camera where you get a quicker save between photos with a faster card.
It won't matter for playing music, it may make a difference in the time taken to copy music from your computer to the card.
For music it'll be irrelevant. I've got a class 2 here, frinstance,and the only thing it's ever been a problem with is HD video. It slows down extended fast shots on my camera, too (might have more of an effect with a mobile, since the camera has a bit of buffer I think but a phone probably won't)
4 is fast enough for a Gopro HD, just to give a wee point of comparison and that's quite a lot of bandwidth.
