All I can say is BLOODY HELL!

Following a thread a few weeks ago on here I took the plunge and now have it strapped to my helmet scaring the local population with daylight like brightness! This is as an assistant to my MaxxD without the expense of a USE Joystick or similar.

Well impressed!!

How long do the batteries last on full power?

I saw a couple of these last night for the first time. I have to say they are impressive, especially for the money. They reckoned they were getting 4+ hours out of them.....

EDIT
Sorry, just checked the link above. It's not that one I saw, but the £50 bar mount one 🙂

Does that light come with a charger or do you need to get one separately?

Are these bike specific lights any brighter than the Dealextreme P7 torch that everybody was raving about last year? Same led, same quoted lumens...

No brighter no, but smaller, and come with dedicated mount, charger and battery pack - battery life is 3 hours on high rather than about 1-1.5 on the torches.

My DX bike light has also just arrived. Made the mistake of turning it on while looking into it, so won't be seeing anything out of that eye for a while!

It's very dinky in comparison to my current Lumi halogens with NiMH bottle battery, but also seems reasonably well made.

Even the low setting has double the lumen's of my current light!

The little green light on the on-off switch probably puts out more lumens than the RC220 I was using last night...

I'm just about to order one...However not sure on batteries and charger etc? What are people using with the torches to get a good level of burn time?

Just get the dedicated bike light one - 3 hours battery on high and it comes with a charger.

Hi Graham

You're falling into the same trap as me - this is what I ordered

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16091

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12000

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6105

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.19770

I ordered the lamp and mount then the charger then oops! the batteries

As all P&P was free it wasn't so bad. I also didn't have to pay tax; but can't say if that was as a result of separate purchasing/packaging or because they arrive from HK with 'gift' on them!

Times for lights are

Theoretical run times H=50min 900 lumens M=2.5Hrs L=7Hrs 20Min.

In the box that arrived this morning were:
- Lamp
- Battery pack
- Fabric battery case
- Charger
- 2 different size rubber bands for mounting

A couple of quid for a shaver socket converter and Bob's your uncle. The battery is charging (although it seems to have arrived pretty much fully charged) and I'm looking forward to trying it tonight.

Pook

Not sure mate - the one I went for is helmet mounted hence the faff!

Just check the relevant web page very carefully as DX do not make anything very crystal clear

Why did you go for that model tankslapper? I've been using a 5 mode MCE P7 since last winter, but am considering buying a second one with credit I have with DX. I'm looking at this one tho http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.22567 which is only $30.50.
