[#7251698]

I recently knocked a block off my rear high roller II (nearly new bike, only a few miles on the tyre...)

I was running it tubeless (27.5*2.4 exo) as the bike came set up for tubeless.

Now I'm confused as to which tyre to replace it with. My current tyre doesn't say tubeless ready or TR anywhere on it.

This one from CRC looks like the same tyre: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/maxxis-high-roller-ii-exo-tyre/rp-prod77864

But should I be getting the tubeless ready version like this? http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Maxxis-High-Roller-II-Folding-EXO-TR-MTB-Mountain-Bike-27-5-inch-Tyre_82451.htm

But that one is the wrong width (2.3)

TR makes it a piece of cake to set up but I've had no problems with non-TR EXO tyres. If I can get TR I will but would rather have the extra protection of EXO

Why are the TR versions narrower?

They don't do all specs in all sizes. Have a look here to see what they do: Maxxis HR2

If your current tyre is not a TR tyre and it inflates without much problem then you should be fine with getting another non TR Maxxis tyre.

I've been using non TR Maxxis tyres for years without much problem. The only downside is sometimes the beads can be a bit baggy so requires some furious pumping to inflate the tyre. But once the bead is seated and tyre inflated they stay that way.
