I need to replace the bearings in the rear hub of my Mavic road wheels, however the hub bolt requires a special tool (see photo below), which costs £60! I'd rather do the job myself, but cannot justify the cost of the tool. Has anyone had any success at replacing the bearings without the tool or is there a cheaper tool available?

If not I'll just have to take it to a Mavic service centre!

I've tried looking, but I can only find it more expensive on the German sites, any chance you can remember where you saw it for €50?

Did you get sorted with this...im the same with the same wheels...front is a doddle but rear needs this tool..

Ive rand 3 shops that sell mavic and non have the tool and where unaware of it..which i think is very poor .. not small shops either..one sayi g it has to go to mavoc for bearing replacement...

Looks like im going to have to do it myself...

Cheers

I'm going to take it to a mavic service centre (I emailed and they confirmed they can change the bearings), but not yet got around to it as riding the winter bike now!

Sorry for the slow reply, but I was told it would be about £40 (with some uncertainty depending on the bearings)
