I have been looking at deals on Mavic wheelsets and finding the best offers on the wrong spec more often than not.
Is there any reason I can't just buy a new freehub and swap it over? This would still make for a substantial saving over buying a set with the correct freehub in a couple of cases.

Yes you can swap the freehubs. I think you can also replace an its2 with an its4 and vice versa. Mavic has maintenance videos on YouTube showing how to remove and replace.

I may end up with a spare SRAM HD freehub which may be of use to someone.
