Anyone know where I can get spares from? The US sight linked on here recently is out of stock for the forseeable future.

Have you tried SidewaysCycles?

Good luck! Tried to get mine repaired a few months ago with no luck either here or Stateside. A massive case of buck-passing leaving you with a very expensive obsolete bit of kit.

Are Joplin parts interchangeable?

Hi Hugh,

Unfortunately Joplin parts are not interchangeable - particularly the guide block and internal channel that they sit in are very different depths.

So essentially, I've got a 150quid paper weight. What a load of $hit. I guess this is what's called the curse of the early adopter. If anyone is reading this and wants my spec list for an adjustable seatpost....

-dead simple internals - coil sprung and mechanical catch, trigger on the device
-no sideways slop
-triple/quintuple/loads of seals to keep it clean
-easy to service with readily available spare parts
-Less than 150 quid or an effing good warranty

A warning to customers that you planned to just stop supplying spares to enable customers to stock up would have been a nice touch by yourselves.
Failing that can we have the specs for the guide blocks to get them engineered our selves EVERYONE KNOWS THEY WEAR OUT?
How about the name of your previous supplier?
Any help would be appreciated?

Hi Junkyard,

It isn't that we have changed supplier - our parts came from a different supplier altogether. We only worked out that our parts were not interchangeable after we had repeated problems from maverick customers. Stocking up would not have helped or changed the situation as the parts would not fit properly.

I'm sorry but giving you specs for a Joplin guide block would also not help as they do not fit in Maverick Speedballs perfectly. I would suggest finding a perfect speedball guideblock and approaching BETD or similar to see if they could make replacements.

Regards

you[Crank bros] own the copyright for the Joplin dont you?
You dont have any drawings/specs/copyright/engineering drawings etc?
Where exactly do you expect us to find a perfect Speedball with unwoirn guide blocks?

Ran thanks for replying though - spoke to you re the above mentioned post

I dunno where my Speedball is 😐

it was a warranty replacement in April of this year because the one I'd sent back several times to be fixed couldn't be fixed again 🙄 they had a brand new one knocking about so they sent me that one to replace the ****ed one.

guess what ????

yip its ****ed too, and no one wants anything to do with it apart from the shop I got it from who are trying there best to get is sorted .... (that went back in August) 😐

*wonders (if) when it'll come back*

.... 😆

Mine's been at my LBS for about a month now and they're trying to find a fix with stuff out of the spares bin...not looking too hopeful.

Should I stop pissing and moaning and just accept that I bought into a dud product?

junkyard - you are aware that 2pure are nothing nor have ever been anything to do with Maverick aren't you?

You sound like you are angry with them for not supplying parts for something they never sold. It was Extra who dealt with Maverick.

Apologies if i have read your posts wrong.

Helpful response from Maverick in the US...

Matt,
As we are no longer owners of the Maverick Speedball post, there’s not a ton I can do for you from this end. I’m surprised Dirt Labs has not responded.
The only thing we can offer is for you to ship the post back (by postal) and we can fix it for you, if that’s an option for you than we are more than happy to get it taken care of.

Thanks-

Ps if it spat oil, it needs more than just o-ring, believe me! And I can rectify that from happening again.
