If I have a bike with a reach of 442 and a stack height of 590, and then add 17.5 mm spacers ( ie a stack of 607) head angle 66 degrees
What would be the new reach please? Obviously shorter but by how much.

Would it be as near as damnit to a 424 reach with 612 stack

Thanks in advance, long time since I did trig !!

It would depend on head angle wouldn't it?

15.98mm more stack, 7.12mm less reach with 17.5mm spacers added.

Adding 17.5mm spacers doesn't add 17.5mm stack due to the head angle robbing you of some vertical gain ๐Ÿ˜€

Adding 25mm of spacers will get your desired 612mm stack but reach will be 431.8mm

You need 30mm extra spacer and a 10mm shorter stem (assuming 6 degree stem angle) to get the reach and stack combo in the OP

[You also have to take in to account headset stack height but since it seems you only want to change spacers on an identical bike and the actual number don't matter (just difference between scenario 1 and scenario 2) I've ignored it]

trick question. reach and stack is a frame dimension.

adding spacers or a mahoosive stem, does not change reach or stack.

Call it "total stack/ reach" or "stack with spacers" or whatever name sounds more betterer ๐Ÿ˜€
