Just wondering how "rough" this is. I'm carrying a bit of a shoulder injury at the moment and I'm restricted to road riding but there's a chance I might be down to do this in September. I know it's a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" question, but what is the terrain generally like?
Ta.
when are you doing it Druidh?
It's rough and very rough and big cobbles in places.
Avoid and wait until it dries out in the "summer"
I'm thinking of popping down for the "Reveal the Path" premiere, so would be doing it as part of the organised ride on 21st Sept. That all assumes I can ride comfortably by then.
Rob, it's here
It depends completely on how bad your shoulder is and what you're used to but the MTL is quite a tough day out. There's no one section that's particularly tough (although, depending on direction, I wouldn't fancy the ride up from Cowpe to Cragg) but I've felt battered by the end the twice I've done it.
Yes, I did it on a full rigid and felt like I'd been beaten up by Mike Tyson then with SIDs on my bike and felt only slightly less beaten up. It's rough and arduous.
Thanks all. Seems like this would not be the best time to do it. Be prepared.for another thread asking about good road loops in the Hebden area ๐
There's very little of it that's really rough but it's much easier to ride on a full sus as there's not much that's smooth.
