[#4299891]

... and I'm flipping loving it!

I've just spent the last 2 days thrashing myself and my (previously) spanking clean Unit 29er up and down the Surrey Hills on our debut outing and have loved every muddy/sunny moment of it.

This is my first mountain bike (I'm a roadie usually) and I'm surprised at how relaxed I've found myself on the bike, tearing down some scary (at least to me) rutted, rocky, chalky and sandy singletrack, sometimes scaring myself at how quick I've found myself going.

My local(ish) trails are Cannock. Am I going to have as much fun there as I've had here?

Fun times:

Surrey Hills are amazing, but Cannock is pretty damn cool as well. You'll have fun.

Surrey Hills and Cannock can hardly be classed as Mountain Biking ๐Ÿ˜‰ and your cheating yourself and your sport with stupidly big wheels IMHO

come on rich bit harsh, pretty positive message from the new guy !

Cannock is good cos the main route is all marked up so not much thinking you can just cycle.

If you havent got an suspension then your doing well I reckon. Went round cannock with out suspension a couple of weeks ago, and it is tough if your not used to it.

Your photo is taken on the Chantries, yes ? If so no biking there, lots of signs. You can ride the bridleway/farm track which skirts to the North but not the hill. There is some singletrack parallel to the track.

Yep. That spot has sentimental value for me, I used to live in Guildford and knew the spot from before y'see. I just liked the pic ๐Ÿ™‚

This one was taken over t'other side.

Then I dropped down again and over to Peaslake, but was too busy riding to take pics

Safe to say the brakes have bedded in now anyway. Them and the bollocks.
