Would really appreciate it if you could take a second to let me know what cranks you are using and how many chainrings you are running on them.
Thanks in advance, P

why?

I'm toying with a prototype chain device and want to test it with different cranks. I'm thinking I will test it on the 3 or 4 most popular and see if I run into any compatibility problems. Have not had any luck finding sales figures for cranks though so thought I would just ask people.
Thanks for the replies so far - keep them coming!

XT with a single 38T ring in the middle position, for my Rohloff.

SLX with a 46T Gates Centretrack sprocket mounted on the outer position on my SS.

If you can come up with a BB-mounted spring-loaded chain-device that applies a constant force through its movement I'll have one.

Not what I am working on, but have you tried the Yess ETR-B ? I had one and thought it was great.

Why did you have to file them? Was it because the bashring was too chunky around the chainring bolt area?

but have you tried the Yess ETR-B

No, cos it doesn't do what I'm looking for. I want a tensioner that will take up the slack on a full suspension SS bike, AND applies constant force through its stroke.

Is it possible for a tensioner which uses a coiled spring to apply a constant force throughout it's stroke? I'm not sure it is, and I can't think of how else a BB mounted tensioner could work.

2011 deore HTII triple cranks, running a renthal 36t single ring

The cranks were ones that came with the bike.

If I was in the market for cranks I would be getting SLX cranks. Single ring die-hard though.

Nope, coiled spring won't apply a constant force, which is why I was hoping you'd be designing a system that would.
Belt-drive needs constant tension y'see....

I'd be surprised if this thread is representative of mtbers in general. Lots of Middleburn mentioned but I don't see that many of them out on the trails

-M770 XT, double and bash with ISCG Stinger
-M800 Saint, double and bash with ISCG Stinger
-Raceface Ride, double and bash, no device due to position of granny bolts (fouls on stinger type devices). Had same problem with RF Evolve XC, I understand some RF come with plastic shims to fine-tune the chain line.
-SLX, triple. Probably get doubled at some point.
