Hi All,

Just taken the plunge and bought a DH bike to go into my collection. Went out for a blast on it last night down the local track and found that the front forks are a bit to soft, does anyone know how to make them a little harder without changing the springs.

Thanks
David

There used to be a washer bodge that adds preload; Just remove top caps and add washers that fit inside the internal diameter, sat on top of spring. Its a fairly old bodge from Motorcycle racing, but works fine if you're sensible.

I had some Vf's and just bought a harder spring kit from TFtuned. Its well worth it.

I'll have a little look at that tomorrow night, might be worth getting the springs though as it is very soft, i'm not a heavy person either so i'm curious who the soft springs are aimed for.

I'll get some pictures up as soon as. Should have some after the weekend as i'm spending it all downhilling. Its an absolute beast though!!!!

Cheers for the advice.

Put some slightly thicker oil in.

If you're simply getting too much sag, don't do this! You need to get the spring rate right before you mess with damping.

I've bitten the bullet and bought some firmer springs to see whether that solves it, it should do the trick.
