Anyone got one of these, or heard favourable noises from riding buddies who do? Seem to be keenly priced and Manitou forks are well-rated these days.
Add-on question - if I buy a 200x56/7 shock, do any allow me to shorten the stroke down to 50/51 so I can futureproof the shock against buying a slightly longer travel bike - ie Cotic Flare (200x51) to Rocket (200x57)?
don't know about the length change but there is a large thread on MTBR on the mcleod
i bought one a couple of years ago in an emergency when my monarch failed and needed a shock for a race. it was all i could find in a hurry in the right size. only used it for a dozen or so rides and it was ok but the monarch i replaced it with was better.
Cheers guys.
Any more opinions from the morning crowd?
I have one on a Kona process and I'm cver happy with it, had a couple of Monarchs on the there before and this is way better, I have a Mattoc too and I'm a Manitou fan.
RecnRece sold a Knolly with CCDB as the Kona felt so good.
Well, had a first ride on it yesterday, and while I need to tweak some settings, it's definitely an upgrade on the Xfusion O2 it replaces. Small bumps and rocks in particular, and unlike the Xfusion, it actually has a rebound damping knob that does something. ๐
Bit late to the thread but I have just fitted one to my scalpel to replace the monarch XX ( 165 x 38) which was far too progressive. Only got 4 hours or so on it but I'm impressed. Mid stroke its very good and i'm getting full travel whereas before I had to run the monarch very soft to get anywhere near. I think i'm going to get the remote. Lots of good feedback on MTBR too. Good price, whats not to like.
