27.2 or 30.9 (have shim).

Basically to figure if I prefer a laid-back before I spend money ordering one (can collect and return).

I've some in the garage - they're on bikes but I've got 27.2 RaceFace XY laybacks on two bikes, so I can swap seatposts easily enough. You have to collect though

In all seriousness, Halfords had some in last time I looked for about £12.00.

One of those changes that needs a bit of time to see if you really like it or not, imo, like most cockpit changes.

Why not buy a cheap one first before buying a Thomson or similar?
