some reviews suggest they size a bit large ?
I'm a 34 waist on a good day, and usually a Large in Endura stuff. Medium or Large ?

Medium I would say. I went medium and I am halfway through the velcro tab and I am a 32" waist in the morning (a bit more by the end of the day 🙁 )
They are good shorts though. I crashed on road at 23mph on their second ride and they were fine, a couple of minor snags, but all things considered very hardy. My main issue is the hip pockets are very shallow to the point I am paranoid about things falling out
I'd go medium if i were you. I'm 35-36" waist and have the large ones and they are a pretty good fit for me with the velcro tabs halfway in

Just do what I do and get Frodo to order you in both sizes, and leave him the one that doesn't fit. 😀
