Planning to briefly bunk-off from an upcoming family holiday in the area. I’ve ridden the waymarked stuff at both, but wondered which had the better unmarked trails to add a bit of interest. Plenty of visible options for both on Trailforks; which would you choose if you were limited to half a day?

Mabie, some mates have been down clearing trees the last few weekends, seems all to be open now. I haven't ridden the off piste for a few years at Dalbeattie, but there was never as much as Mabie anyway.

Lots of Mabie is not clear. It's on the to do list.

Little bit of a thread resurrection.
In the area early next week, any news on how things are looking at Mabie and tips on a good loop including plenty of off piste.
