Do you wear anything under your lycra?

Do you: go commando, wack out the Y fronts, a pair of boxers or a silk banana hammock?

Lycra shorts have built-in padding for a very good reason.

wearing something underneath will lead to chafing.

Just don't inflict lycra on people unless you have to.. i.e. change out of lycra as soon as possible ๐Ÿ˜‰

I do not wear anything under my lycra.

But I only wear lycra if I am riding my bike. So I reckon it's OK.

I asked this question on a different thread, turns out I've been wearing my bike lycra wrong all these years! I've always worn underwear (good old cotton Bonds)...

In hindsight and thinking about it, it makes sense to go commando since your undies just get soaked in sweat, which leads to chaffage and general uncomfortableness (which I've experienced in the past on long rides).

So it's commando for me from now on (though I wear baggy shorts over my lycra nowadays 8) )

You're not supposed to wear anything in order to avoid chaffing. In any case, you'll have a VPL is you wear y-fronts underneath, and fashion is almost as important as chaffing! If you're worried about it, wear baggy shorts over your lycra?
