OK I'm in the process of building up a jump bike after a series of PSAs on here.
One of the purchases was the 27.5 Pike's off of Ribble, which arrived last week and are 150mm travel.
I need to get the travel reduced to 100mm ish (or maybe 90mm may actually be better, as I'm running 26 inch wheels so fork is slightly over long already)
Officially, based on SRAM part catalogues, you can't do this as you can only get 120mm air shafts at the lowest for this fork. However I reckon it'll be do-able by purchasing a Pike 26 DJ Solo air shaft, plus I'll also need the solo air seal head kit, and a load of tokens for the positive air to make it progressive.
Anyone know if this will work? Also does anyone know whether the 100mm air shaft for a 26 inch fork, will result in 100mm, or 90mm, on 27.5? Not entirely sure looking at the parts catalogues.

Other bodgier ways I could try are
(1) to make a spacer to slide along the air shaft / shove under the rubber bump stop.
this thread suggests it will work, but I think it will result in the negative air not being pressurised correctly.
(2) chop the air shaft down. It will be difficult with the new foot assembly on the air shaft that's in - I could try with an older solo air shaft I have lying around however I'll then need to solo air seal head assembly so it's still parts to buy and I may aswell then do it properly
Yes the Pike DJ air shaft and volume spacers works.
1. Won't work, don't bother.
2. Old solo air shaft can be cut and re-threaded.
DJ air shaft and a 27.5 Pike will give a fork very close A2C ti the 26" Pike DJ.

I've done this on an old set of 26" lyriks. I just cut down the air shaft and retapped it - easy enough to do as it's aluminum.
