was just changing some pads (brakes are formula oro k24) and dropped the circlip and cant find it. are these necessary to stop things falling apart or can i get away without? just about to head away for a weekend of riding....wish i'd done the tinkering yesterday 😡

3 years and many miles without them it's not a problem.

if it is from the pad retention bolt and this is threaded then you'll be fine as the thread will hold. I'd check it before each ride though.

If you have loctite that will help stop it loosening.

I ran deore brakes without a clip on the pad retention bolt for years and never had any problems.

it'll be fine. I lost mine a while ago. Just check the bolt thing is done up tightly before each ride. Mine hasn't worked loose yet.

I use old fashion split pins in my RX1s works just the same just make sure you bend them both ends so the pin cant fall out. Cheaper than the replacement set which comes in at about £20!

Lock wire mounted in the groove would work equally well.
