The shock on my vp free is a little loose. Feels mostly fine when riding but if I lift the back of the bike there is a bit of movement around the front of the shock under the top tube. I replaced the front bushing but this has made no difference. It feels like its moving around the bolt that connects it to the frame as the mount kit seems to be solid on the shock.
Could it be that the mount kit needs replaced? Wouldnt the bushing wear out before this?
Pretty sure this happened on my old vp free too at first, but taking it off and putting it back on sorted this.
Anyone got any suggestions?
You may find that the mounting bolt is slack in the bushes/adaptors, a problem we had with some Mongoose FS bikes at one time. It may not be your issue, but we bored out 6mm adaptors to 7.9mm because the bolts were undersized, and not available elsewhere.
Sounds like that might be the kind of thing I need.
