Put bike on the roof.
Check carrier is secure.
Double check carrier.
Start car.
Check carrier again.
Set off.
Spend entire journey looking for the shadow of your bike as you're never convinced it hasn't fallen off.
Or is that just me?
Normal behaviour. Carry on.
Or buy a van.
Phew, not just me then.
or have a sun roof and spend half the journey craning your neck.
One of those mirrors that sucker on the window to keep an eye on the kids in the back.
Tucked in where the windscreen meets the dashboard allows me to see the bikes on the roof.
I have mine on the back
spend the entire journey trying to tell if the top tube has slipped down/changed angle relative to the rear windscreen heating elements
Only You ?
Check once, check twice, live your life.
Wobbles. The wee wobbles you can see in the mirror all the time when the bikes are on the towbar rack. That give me ulcers. Worrying whether a bike, or worse still, the rack, is about to detach itself.
And, especially when bikes are on the roof, glancing in the mirror and checking out the car behind, and thinking 'if the bikes come off now, that family behind me is probably going to die'.
Friend bought a There roof rack after realising his 3 series estate was in fact tiny.
I didn't relax much watching the bikes through the sunroof shaking from side to side.
Have to say the bikes on the T5 rack are solid.
