Hi - I've been searching recent threads on the above..

Can anyone recommend any particularly good accommodation from own experience in Lakes? Have been doing the trawl on group accommodation.com and there's a couple of potentials but not completely convinced. Its for about 12 guys Friday and Saturday night mid-April.

I was hoping this discerning (and hopefully vocal!) community would have some excellent recommendations - thanks!

Do a search for climbing/mountaineering huts that allow guests. Sure to be something up there. Provided it is not easter week you might find one with space.

There's a very basic bunkbarn in Thirlspot, next to a pub

We regularly stay in Bassenthwaite Village Hall- £100 a night, sleep on camp mats with a nice kitchen, away from the village so you can make loads of noise, many showers, ping pong table, no other guests. It's great.

The Youth Hostel nr Hawkshead is good - plenty of rides from the door and only a short walk into the pubs... get a group card (our club uses ours every year)
