Alright folks,

Looking to get an adjustable seatpost but concerned that there isn't one long enough!

I currently use a Thomson 410mm layback post and it's not too far off the limit line.

Has anyone had a similar problem? Anyone know of an adjustable post that measures up to be pretty long?

Thanks in advance!

Have a search for RISE racing in the states ... I'm sure theirs are pretty long as they have a 9" drop!

I think the longest Gravity Dropper is 425mm long at full extension, so that would be OK.

I'm 6'3" with a large Blood (which is pretty small at 17") and I've got the 425 GD with adjustment to spare.

Ah nice. I hadn't seen the 425mm version of the Gravity Dropper.

And a 9" drop!!! That's madness!

Cheers folks!

The new Rockshox post is over 400mm IIRC.

You lot need to get some bigger bikes or accept you want a BMX.

Maybe some people have long legs for their height, so don't want a large bike as it would be too long in the top-tube. Not everyone is as perfectly proportioned as you obviously are.

6'3" on a 17" frame is well outside outrageous proportions. I've tried riding Mrs TT's 17" bike and it is all kinds of teeny-tiny wrong.

For the record, I have long legs in proportion to my torso! 6'2" and riding a large Nicolai. Any larger frame would be way too long in the top tube.

People are different sizes!

Cheers for the info people.

There's nothing wrong with a 17" Blood for a gent of my proportions. The seatpost feels a bit precarious at times, but the bike is meant to be that shape.
