I used to have an Enduro Evo.

It was good especially going down over rocky stuff and at DH tracks. However it always felt a bit OTT for most of my riding.

So I sold the frame and got a Carbon Stumpjumper.

Yes it is only 140mm rear travel but it still has the 160mm DPA Lyriks. The bike is fantastic, it has made me so much faster at just normal riding because it pedals so well. The fact it is about 7lbs lighter than the Enduro, now I have made a few upgrades, helps too. Its not as stable on the properly rocky stuff like the double black at Antur but on smoother DHs it actually seems faster. Its a bit of a pain that I can't really use my Rock Razors as they are too big for the frame but Larsons are fine.

Banshee Rune V2 here (no pics - work computer won't let me access image hosting websites). 160/160 travel through a CCDBa and a pair of Devilles.

It climbs better than it has any right to as it's not a light bike at 32lbs and is fun on the descents (more fun then I remembered having had it out of a hardtail induced hibernation this week). It's easily more capable than some of my old DH bikes and a better bike than I'll ever be rider.

I had 3 criteria to meet when I bought my enduro.
1. comfort
2. something suitable for my size
3. something to ride rockier terrain

so far it has hit all the marks.
I am amazed at how much suspension has come on since I last bought a susser.

Nice, what size wheels?

The newer ones, like yours, are supposed to be lighter and better pedaling than my old Evo. The air shock will help that too.

Voltage FR. Best bike ever (probably). I've not found anything as fun or versatile as these bikes yet. Not good if you're tall though but not an issue for me. I can even climb on it with a long post. And yes I know I need to sort the short brake hoses and dirty block paving out.

If we're allowing 150 front 140 rear then this counts:

[img] [/img]

I wouldn't call it long travel though.

My covert is 150 up front and 140 at the rear, but it's a 29er so must be at least equivalent to 180 fr 170 rear on 26" wheels?

Oh go on then, seeing as I saw one above, 180/170 do it all bike, pedals up very well. Light wheels/tyres makes a huge difference. But yes, a very efficient trail bike and loads of fun

After getting excited posting a photo, I've now re-read the first post:

Scott Genius LT
Front: 180/140mm / Rear: 185/110mm

Climbing
Whack the front into 140mm, rear into traction mode (110mm rear) and it climbs really well, if climbing on road you can lock out front and rear via handlebars giving it a hardtail climb ability. Putting it into 140mm lowers the front putting more weight on the front, stopping the front lifting when climbing steep stuff it also allows you to breathe better.

Descending
Descends really well with in both traction and full mode. I use a mixture of both modes, keeping the front in 180mm. If its really rocky/bumpy/fast I will put it in full 185mm, if its pumpy sorta trail then traction mode really helps keeping the speed pumping.

A few other riders have ridden it around the car park. Let me say first they are all taller than me, I'm 5'8", most were 6'+ and weigh a fair bit more too. I have a small frame, full mode is set up for big hits and traction mode is setup to have some more preload for small fast bumps and pumpy'ness. The comment that keeps coming back in full mode is "This thing is like a comfy sofa!"

Comparison to Bronson C 150/150
My friend also has a Genius LT, so I rode the LT he rode the Bronson. He was quicker first time on the Bronson than his Genius LT, travel ain't everything. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Faster than the Hardtail?
It feels faster on the hardtail, feels a lot faster, but in reality the LT is faster. You are probably thnking it all depends on the terrain. I tested this at AC and was consistently quicker on the motorway sections than my Hardtail.

Mine is a large, 6ft tall (33in inside leg), bars are 43inches from the ground (one 10mm spacer under the stem & 20mm rise renthal fatbars @ 780mm total bar width)

Drop post cable was pretty easy tbh, threaded a gear cable inner down the seattube, followed by a gear outer, then use the red connector which comes with the reverb to attach the reverb hose to the gear cable.

Cheers sir HC.

For some reason yours just looks spot on and perfect.

Are the forks at 150 or 160.

I take it your bars are lower than your saddle when the dropper is extended.

How do you find the bike then.

Ton & thisisnotaspoon: That picture is looking at Mont Jovet, Savoie region, French Alps. The climb in front which starts as a double track, soon goes into very steep singletrack, too steep to ride and you end up doing a bit of hike a bike. Eventually you get to the top at 2439m, then its pretty much a two+ hour descent with awesome views.

This is one of the all day rides with The White Room. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have a [url=

And here's thisisnotaspoon's old Pitch in it's current incarnation. Probably lighter now with Revelation forks rather than Lyriks and with an RP23 instead of the RP2. Love it.
Great for messing around riding my local moors/woods and a very capable enduro race machine.

My voltage today! Was not so fun on the uphills haha but it's the only bike I have now and I pretty much only ride dh so no point getting an "enduro" bike. Just wish I had the long version and it might climb a bit better. We did almost 1000m today :\

It's the Long Mynd on the path back to the glider club, just after the horrible fire road climb back up from doing Minton Batch! I sometimes wonder whether I'd enjoy the climbs if I had a suitable bike, I always seem to either be on something overkill like this or a small DJ style hardtail.

160 - 160 Lapierre Spicy.

Goes up and down, i much prefer to go down than up though so it has an offset bush in one end of the shock

I'm not sure my Spitfire qualifies, it's only 140mm at the back and 160mm up front. But it's very good travel on a fashionably slack/low/long frame! A ridiculously awesome bike.

[img] [/img]

Wouldn't short travel be under 130mm, medium up to 160mm and long everything over?

Here's my 150 / 150 Pivot Mach 5.7, with it's unfashionable 3 x 10 drivetrain, great fun to ride but total overkill for around here, usually I ride a fully rigid 29er. Will be bringing it out of hibernation soon though as the QECP enduro is next month....
